Our Story
PENN PRO was founded by M. Wayne Pennewell in August of 1992. Motivated by his desire to apply his phosphate experience to mining and chemical industries throughout Central Florida, Wayne began PENN PRO with one idea in mind; provide the highest quality services to clients without sacrificing integrity or reliability.
PENN PRO is committed to providing high quality and innovative engineering services that exceed our client’s expectations.
PENN PRO has also successfully completed thousands of projects for clients like Mosaic, Nutrien, Oiltanking, Motiva, Targa Resources, Publix, Kinder Morgan, TECO, Givaudan Flavors and many others.
Since its inception, PENN PRO has been a leader in mechanical engineering and design. In addition, we have developed strong electrical, process and environmental engineering competencies, to give our clients a one-stop engineering option.
We continue to add a mix of young and experienced talent to our team, as we believe it is the only way to assure long-term viability for our company. We value the knowledge and expertise of our experienced professionals and team them up with the younger, developing engineers and designers, to create a fertile environment for proper mentoring and transfer of knowledge and skills as needed to achieve company and professional growth goals. Additionally, we provide our professionals with the most advanced engineering and drafting tools available.
In addition to the latest 2D and 3D AutoCAD software, PENN PRO now offers reverse engineering services using a 3D laser scanning, integrated with Rapidform and SolidWorks software. With these new tools and experts to use them, we are able to give foundries and part suppliers a cost-effective way to build replacement components and assembly drawings.
Community & Charity
As a locally owned business, we know the importance of giving back and investing in the community in which we live. We strongly believe that investing in our community is an essential part of what makes PENN PRO such a wonderful work environment.
PENN PRO supports the United Way of Central Florida and manages an annual campaign each year for the cause. We match dollar for dollar to our employee’s charitable efforts during this campaign to raise money for local programs including Good Shepherd Hospice, Boys & Girls Club of Mulberry, and The Salvation Army.
As a company, we work to ensure many local charities are included in our annual giving efforts. If one of our employees requests support for a specific charity, we prioritize that charity to maintain our local ties to the community and to our employees. PENN PRO does not focus our charitable efforts on just one organization; rather we spread our efforts to support as many local charities as possible.
